A little bit about myself:
Hello, My name is Mr. Adad Ocampo I am a new long-term guest teacher at Leyden. In my previous job, I was the sponsor for Maine East Latino Club and the Maine East Chess Coach. I was born in Cuernavaca Morelos Mexico, A city in central Mexico about 2 hours outside of Mexico City. I moved to Chicago when I was very young and I have lived here ever since. When I was in High School I joined the Mexican Folkloric Dance Company Of Chicago. The company has performed in many places and I really loved being a dancer with them. After high school, I went to the Illinois Institute of Art where I studied graphic design. After college I started a small design and technology company called Ocampo Design Incorporated. After a while, I decided I wanted to work in a school helping students and so, here I am! I hope you take some time to get to know me. I would love to get to know you!! |
Mr. Ocampo's Summer 2018This summer was amazing! I got the chance to visit Greece. My trip started with a 12 hour layover in Helsinki. I spent the day visiting their market and taking a quick boat tour around the Golf of Finland.
After Finland, It was off to Athens and a quick (bit too quick) bus ride to the ferry port. I took a ferry to the first island, Paros. I had never seen such beauty in person before. Each of the Islands has its own personality and I feel Paros has the most relaxing vibe. After a couple of days, it was off to the island of Santorini. If I thought that Paros was beautiful, Santorini was easily 10 times more beautiful. We stayed in a little town called Oia (ee-a) and the sunsets were absolutely breathtaking! We hated to leave but after another few days we headed to Crete. The biggest island of them all. Natural wonders, pink sand beaches, beautiful night sky, I was left completely in awe. This was the most life-changing trip I have ever taken. |

Mr. Ocampo's Summer 2017Mrs. Ocampo and I had a great summer. We did a lot of awesome things but by far the biggest thing we did was go on a road trip to Yellowstone National Park. We met a lot of people and learned a lot of things. For example did you guys know that you can camp for free up to 16 nights in any national forest? We stayed in some really beautiful places and saw many wild animals in their natural habitat. I have included a slideshow of some of my pictures. I hope you like them! If you guys did something special over the summer please share it with us. I can’t wait to hear what you guys did over the summer.
The slideshow only lets me upload a few pictures at a time. If you'd like to see more from our trip Click here to see our album. MR OCAMPO'S SUMMER ALBUM 2017 |
